On Friday, December 3, 2010, SCOPE showed the action packed sci-fi/fantasy movie Resident Evil: Afterlife. This newest edition to the Resident Evil movies was a fine one indeed with jump out of your chair moments and suspense that kept you waiting on the edge of your chair. Alice is triumphant again in Resident Evil: Afterlife.
This new installment to the series was written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and released September 10, 2010 by Screen Gems Studios. Milla Jovovich returns to her heroine role as Alice and for sidekicks she has Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller playing the brother/sister combo of Chris and Claire.
This movie is rated R by the MPAA. In this action packed thriller, Alice tries to find Arcadia in Alaska for safety, but instead ends up in the City of Angels to find a small group of survivors keeping safe in the prison. But when the walls are breached by zombies, they must find a way to get on Arcadia, the ship.
Alice continues her journey in her search for Arcadia; she goes to a town where no infection lives. After a deadly run-in with the Umbrella Corporation, she is weakened but her aim and wit are still as strong as ever as she encounters an old friend, and they travel to Los Angeles, a place now surrounded and populated by thousands of undead.
A key moment is when Alice finds the leader of the Umbrella Corporation, Albert Wesker, on the ship and the best fight of them all breaks loose. Albert has injected himself with the T-Virus, taking over his body and turning him into even more of a monster. The fight that follows is so extreme. Claire and Chris come in and save the day when Alice is held off by two zombie dogs.
This movie was a fantastic edition to the series and will keep the audiences heart pumping for the next movie to release. A very warm thank you to SCOPE is in order for putting on this wonderful event. Sadly this is the last movie of the semester. Look forward to all of the new movies that will be put on next semester.
