The Sports Industry Club
The Sports Industry Club was founded in the spring semester of 2005. Our purpose is give students an inside look at the sports industry, facility management, personnel management, facility safety, marketing and general administration.
The club does so by meeting and networking with executives and personnel from the four major sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA), minor leagues, other collegiate athletic departments and marketing firms. We also serve as a social environment that allows students to enjoy the sports world to the fullest extent in their leisure time.
Some of our more popular events include the annual Powderpuff Tournament in October where proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen foundation, Madden tournaments, viewing parties and trips to professional and collegiate sports events, and bringing in guest speakers such as Brian Jennings, Brian O’Gara, Chris Burman, Tony Sparano and many more.
To be involved in the Sports Industry Club you do not have to be a sports management major, just really into sports or wanting to learn more about them! Our weekly meetings are Mondays at 4 p.m. in the BSAC conference room. For more information please contact us at [email protected] !
