WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven men’s track and field team has been picked to finish eighth in the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Poll, selected by the coaches around the league.
Southern Connecticut garnered six first place votes and a total of 86 points for the top slop in the census. UMass-Lowell captured second with two first place votes and 71 points, American International took third with two first place votes and 68 points, Stonehill collected fourth with one first place vote and 67 points and Saint Rose rounded out the top five with 50 points.
The Falcons of Bentley (40) were selected in the sixth slot, followed by Adelphi (38), UNH, Assumption (19), Pace (16) and Merrimack (11).
The Chargers open their campaign on Saturday, April 2 with the Coast Guard Invitational in New London, Conn. The team will also send members to the RAMAPO College Invite in Ramapo, N.J.
