NEW YORK, N.Y. – The University of New Haven men’s track and field team competed at the 2012 UAlbany Great Dane Classic in New York. The Chargers competed against a number of top Division I teams at the New York City Armory.
David Thomas (Taneytown, Md./Frostburg State) was the team’s top performer with a ninth place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.05. He also finished 21st in the 60-meter dash prelims with a time of 7.02.
Other competitors included a 26th place finish by Winston Reid (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) in the 400-meter dash and a 41st place finish in the 800-meter run by Christopher Dannenhoffer (West Haven, Conn./Notre Dame) with a time of 2:06.71. The Chargers also competed in the 4,000-meter distance medley relay. Matthew Eder, Reid, Dannenhoffer, and (East Brunswick, N.J./South Brunswick)Matthew Dunham# anchored the team with a time of 11:00.96.
The Chargers will return to action on Saturday, January 28 when they travel to the Boston University Terrier Classic. The meet will take place at the BU Track and Tennis Center in Boston.
