WEST HAVEN–When it’s 2:00 in the morning and you need a reference book for a report to turn in tomorrow or when you are at home on spring break and working on a class project, the library has an extensive collection of books at your fingertips. Besides the books you expect to find sitting on the library shelves, we have many collections of online books in various fields of study, which you can access from anywhere with just your UNH network username and password. Just go to the Library section of the UNH web site and select the Databases link.
We have current textbooks in the following fields:

-Engineering Handbooks Online from CRC Press-1092 books
-Environment & Environmental Engineering Collection (Knovel Books)-96 books

-Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering Collection (Knovel Books)-145 books
The noted number of books in each collection is as of the date of this article. Books are added and updated continuously. You can pull up a whole book, or search the databases by topic and get chapters in various books which contain your topic keyword(s).
The library also subscribes to the NBER Working Papers, a collection of over 15,000 short books on hot socio-economic topics, with relevant statistical data included in the discussions of the topics.
In addition, until the end of April 2009, the library has a trial access to Springer e-Books, which includes books published by Springer from 2005 to the present on many topics in the Arts and Sciences.

-CREDO Reference-393 books including Dictionaries and Encyclopedias in many fields (art, biography, languages & literature, business, sports, sciences & social sciences, and more)
-E-Books for Colleges (Gale Virtual Reference Library)-18 books. For example: Encyclopedia of Espionage, Intelligence and Security, 2004. Includes reference books in business, history, sciences and social sciences.
-Encyclopedia of Dietary Supplements
-Encyclopedia of Science and Technology Online (McGraw-Hill)
-Handbook of Chemistry and Physics Online (CRC Press)
-Mental Measurements Yearbook and Tests in Print
-OECD Economic Surveys of many countries around the world, current and past years’ data.
