It’s that time of year again, when the pumpkins and the apples are ready to pick and you know that SCOPE wouldn’t let the season go without giving students an opportunity to do some apple picking. On Saturday, October 15, SCOPE Weekend Programming took a trip to Lyman Orchards to get students into the fall mood.
On the trip, students had fun picking their own apples. Each student had the chance to pick a full bag of apples. Hopefully, they went home to make some nice apple pie. But picking apples was fun for all the students, and it really got them into the fall mood.
Also on the trip, students had the chance to run through the corn and get lost; either way, they had fun. The corn maze this year was in the shape of an American flag and eagle to support the troops both overseas and the ones that have made it home. In the maze, there were also little information stands where students could learn about the armed forces or navy. It was both a fun and educational experience.
It was a great trip, and everybody had fun picking apples and getting lost. The chilliness in the air really made the day feel like fall, and there are more great fall days to come.
