For those of you who don’t know, we have a radio station on campus! So if you’re interested in having your own show or helping out—stay tuned!
Here at WNHU West Haven, we have students, faculty members, and community members who put on great shows, ranging from the newest releases in indie and alternative, the sweet sounds of world music and pop, the latest in sports, and talk shows that will reel you in. Whatever you’re looking for, we’ve got it! Download the free TuneIn radio app and jam with us anytime, anywhere.
College radio has magnificently changed my life, and I’m not joking. I remember when I first started making my twenty something song playlists on Spotify; I’d come up with some of the lamest jokes you’ll ever hear on air.
I came in, a plain old music major, and now I want to discover everything I can about radio, journalism, you name it. I’m also a senior—it’s never too late to add or change things to your plate.
Go big or go home. I know most of my peers will agree that WNHU is the best place to get involved.
With that being said, here’s a little something for you all: two great shows to look forward to on 88.7 FM and the WNHU stream on TuneIn and wnhu.net!
Monday 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on 88.7 FM
Foxy Grandpa—hosted by yours truly. If you like Walk The Moon, Smallpools, Modern Baseball, Death Cab For Cutie, and random facts, I’m your girl. Formerly Moderately Indie, with a foxy touch.
Friday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on 88.7 FM
Center Stage with DJ Spotlight—hosted by Stephen Shepherd. Kicking off your weekend with pop, showtunes, electronica, original mashups, and more.
Don’t forget! We’re looking for DJs for Charger Radio, our student-exclusive online radio station, as well as new members to help out at the station in all areas ranging from promotions, production, and programming.
It’s an amazing experience and so much fun. You can play whatever your heart desires!
Come hang out during one of our new member meetings on Wednesday Sept. 9 for more info, happening at 4:30 p.m. and again at 8 p.m.!
