How you can get involved with SCOPE’s Spring Week
SCOPE is a student-led organization on campus that encompasses a total of five different committees: Public Relations, Entertainment, Charger Excursions, Novelty and Variety and Spirit and Traditions. Each of the committee heads plan exciting and engaging opportunities for students all across campus to partake in. One of the annual events hosted by SCOPE, Spring Week, encourages the university community to let loose before the end of the semester.
Cassondra Runko, a forensic science major and current President of SCOPE, said that the SCOPE team has a variety of Spring Week events to look forward to this month. She said, “Our biggest events occurring during Spring Week are Chargerpalooza and the Carnival. Chargerpalooza Night 1 is on Thursday, April 28th, 2022. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m. Chargerpalooza Night 2 is on Friday, April 29th, 2022. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will start at 9 p.m. The Carnival is Saturday, April 30th, 2022, from 4-9 p.m. in the North Campus Parking lot.”
“We will have 7 different food trucks, rides, games, music, and the human claw. Limited giveaways will be available at the above-mentioned events,” she said.
Why should you get involved with Spring Week on campus? For starters, SCOPE is hosting a variety of activities that will allow students to break free from their dorms and classrooms at the most stressful time of the year: the end of the second semester.
Runko encourages students to get involved with SCOPE’s upcoming events as much as possible. She said, “The events during Spring Week can benefit the students before the end of the semester because it will give them time to destress and make memories with their friends before heading home for the summer.” Spring Week encourages students to temporarily disengage from their academic work and get the full experience of what campus life has to offer here at the university.
More details for all the Spring Week events can be found on the SCOPE Instagram account and, the banners and lawn signs around campus, as well as visiting Charger Connection online.
