This year’s Greek Week was held in Bartels dining hall this past week (April 10-14), where Greek organizations did a series of activities throughout the week. Greek organizations were split up into groups of four, teaming up with certain organizations and completing against others. Teams participated in games to promote Greek unity on campus, while simultaneously having a little friendly competition.

The first day was minute to win it challenges, where teams were put together and participated in challenges that each group had a chance to win. Day two was 90’s trivia, were teams were asked 90’s themed trivia questions, like popular TV shows, such as the Rugrats, and popular electronics, like the Tamagotchi.

Day three was Family Feud, where groups were paired in fours and had a cowbell that they had to ring if they had the answer. The fourth day was lip sync and dance battles, where Greek organizations battled to popular songs and, even though they couldn’t sing, they performed, creating laughter amongst the audience.

It was all very competitive and, throughout all the activities, there was determination to win on the faces of each member of the organizations. Prizes were also given at each event, for example a door prize for anyone that came to the Family Feud night was a chance to win four tickets to a Chainsmokers concert.

New members or new initiates could not participate in the activities at this years’ Greek Week, but they still came to each event supporting their Greek organizations.

“It was really cool to see all of the organizations come together to enjoy something fun,” said Erin Cuomo, new member of Delta Phi Epsilon. She also added that she looks forward to participating in next year’s week.

“This event was tailored to bring all Greek organizations together and to have fun with everyone,” said Ashley Kelly. She also said she joined Greek life because she “wanted to find a home here and a family and sisters and to be a part of something bigger and being able to give back to what the community gives her.”
