On Saturday October 1, both Graduate and Undergrad students took their Saturday night to volunteer. Members of both SMILE (Students Making an Impact on their Living Environment) & GSC
(Graduate Student Council) met at the Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven.
Volunteers walked, worked registration tables, and counted the donations all part of giving their time to help the campaign that strives to help those affected by Leukemia and Lymphoma.
Graduate student, Paul Schiller said “assisting with the event was a wonderful experience. The sheer volume of people participating in the walk was amazing.” The event raised over $11,000 towards cancer research.
If you are interested in joining SMILE, please email them at [email protected] or GSC at [email protected] to get involved.
