When settlers first came to America, the first group to be attacked were the Indians – you’ve heard it before, cowboys versus Indians, right?
Years later, people potentially ate too many mushrooms and began killing off each other due to claims of being a witch.
Years later, it was the Jewish population during World War II, as well as Asians such as Japanese-Americans after World War II, then blacks, then Muslims, middle-easterners, and now homosexuals.
For centuries, people have been hating other people for – well – stupid reasons. Going with the latter example, one zoo in Warsaw, Poland is drawing some controversy due to not wanting a homosexual in their zoo. A homosexual elephant, that is.
Conservative councilor Michal Grzes from the city of Poznan, located in western Poland, said, “we didn’t pay 37 millino zlotys (7.6 million pounds) for the largest elephant house in Europe to have a gay elephant live there.”
According to local media, the gay elephant, named Ninio, prefers male companions and will probably not procreate.
Grzes continued, saying that “we were supposed to have a herd, but as Ninio prefers male friends over females how will he produce offspring?”
The head of the Poznan zoo said 10-year-old Ninio may be too young to decide whether he prefers males or females as elephants only reach sexual maturity at 14.
Many animal rights activists, as well as gay rights leaders, are concerned that Ninio is being treated this way simply because of his sexual orientation. Even in today’s day, where homosexual humans are still discriminated against, these activists find it disturbingly shocking that Ninio is being referred to so harshly.
Other conservatives are even saying that there is no such thing as a gay animal.
I suggest these individuals look up what a “human” is.
