Check out the 2021 People’s Choice Awards Nominations

The People’s Choice Awards is the next anticipated award show happening this year. With a date set for Dec. 7, the entertainment industry is excited to find out which of the decided upon fan favorites in music, television, film and pop culture get to claim their respective titles.

Last year’s ceremony received generally moderate ratings from the viewers during the winter season of the pandemic and without a live audience. This year, the ceremony will be held again at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian and SNL cast member Kenan Thompson. Thompson is also nominated for two awards: Comedy TV Star and Male TV Star.

There’s a multitude of categories, so viewers get a wide range of options to choose from for who they want to win.

Some of the top movie and television awards are the “Movie of 2021” nominations. These include “Coming 2 America,” “Black Widow,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” “No Time to Die,” “The Tomorrow War,” “F9: The Fast Saga,” and the latest theatrical release, “Dune,” The “Comedy of 2021” nominations are “Only Murders in the Building,” “Ted Lasso,” “Young Rock,” “The Upshaws,” “Never Have I Ever,” “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and “Saturday Night Live”. The “Bingeworthy Show of 2021” nominations are “Outer Banks,” “Mare of Easttown,” “The White Lotus,” “Sex/Life,” “Squid Game,” “Cobra Kai,” “Ted Lasso,” and “ Loki.”

While there isn’t much discussion surrounding “snubbed” nominees, Fansided site, One Chicago Center, talked about the Wolf Entertainment “One Chicago” franchise not being included in the nominations. These shows are “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD.” Wolf, however, has picked up nominations for his more-well known television show, “Law and Order: SVU.”

In the Pop Culture section, viewers can vote for their favorite celebrities with large social presences and digital creators and content. Some of the categories include the “Social Star of 2021,” whose nominees are Avani Gregg, Charli D’Amelio, Dwayne Johnson, Kim Kardashian West, Lil Nas X, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber and Kylie Jenner.

The “Pop Podcast of 2021” include the following nominees: “Call Her Daddy,” “Armchair Expert” hosted by actor Dax Shepard, “Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain,” “Conan Needs A Friend” hosted by comedian and late-night host Conan O’Brien, “Chicks In the Office,” “Why Won’t You Date Me” hosted by actress and comedian Nicole Byer, “Couple Things with Shawn and Andrew” hosted by Olympic Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson, and “Smartless” hosted by actors Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes.
