WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven Department of Athletics is proud to mark the 30th anniversary of its Hall of Fame with the announcement of the Class of 2013. The class includes seven individuals representing five sports. The group will be enshrined at the 30th Annual Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Friday, April 12, 2013 at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven at 6 p.m.
The 30th Anniversary induction class is comprised of Jim Ferguson (baseball), Pat Fitzpatrick (football), Mike Forte (football), Debbie Moore (women’s basketball), Major Ruth (men’s track & field), Alec Zarnowski (baseball) and Edward Zimmitti (men’s soccer).
“It is with great pleasure to announce the 30th Anniversary Hall of Fame Class this year,” said Associate Vice President, Director of Athletics and Recreation Deborah Chin. “The seven individuals exemplify the history of Charger athletics and further enhance the great tradition of the Athletics Hall of Fame. With three decades of inductees, it’s also very exciting to celebrate the 30th anniversary with the over 150 former student-athletes, coaches, administrators and athletic boosters in New Haven athletics’ storied history.”
Including this class, the UNH Athletics Hall of Fame will include 151 individuals and one team.
