Last Thursday, Charger Bulletin News (CBN) filmed their first live show on Oct. 3. With Haiden Leach and Joe Markowski on the desk, Ashley Craig on sports, Michael Crowley on student life, Will Whalen on entertainment, Jason Kull directing and Emily Lavoie producing, the live show is one you don’t want to miss.
Lavoie spoke about the shift from pre-recorded to live episodes of the broadcast.
“The program needed it, and I wanted to do this for a greater purpose, and to leave an impact on the program that would still remain after I left,” said Lavoie. She expressed how she felt about the show being back and how live shows gave her a “ sense of adrenaline that you don’t really get, when you’re not live.”
Lavoie has many plans for the future of CBN. “I hope to win an Emmy, that’s got me really excited! But I also really just want greater feedback and I am excited to make the program bigger than it is and more known than it is.”
The program has already increased in size since Lavoie began producing CBN, going from being a “skeleton crew” of 13 people to a staff of almost 30.
Lavoie spoke about her plans for the rest of the academic year.
“The goal is to always up it in quality, performance, and professionalism every week,” said Lavoie “The goal is to bring more to the table at every pre-production meeting and every shoot. Any future plans? I don’t want to give them away yet, changes are in store, rebrands are coming. CBN is doing stuff.” The only hint to the rebrand that she would give me is “Power On.” We are so excited to see what is in store for the whole Charger Bulletin News crew as they continue on with their future endeavors.
If you missed this week’s live show, the next episode will air Oct. 10 at 10 a.m. You can also still watch the episode on the show’s Youtube channel. Also, check out their Daily Event Rundowns to see what events are happening on campus.
