SOUTH EASTON, Mass. -Junior forward Cassius Chaney was named to the Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Basketball All-Conference Second Team as voted by the league’s 15 head coaches. This is his third career all-conference award as he earned All-East Coast Conference honors as both a freshman and sophomore.
Le Moyne College junior Laurence Ekperigin was named the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year.
This season, Chaney ranked second in the conference in scoring (18.8 ppg) and ninth in rebounding (7.4 rpg). He led the Chargers in scoring in 18 of 27 games this season, including a stretch of 12 straight games from early January through the middle of February. Chaney, who also collected Northeast-10 Player of the Week honors earlier this season, also recorded five double-doubles on the year.
New Haven finished the season with an 8-19 overall record, including a 6-16 mark in its first season in the Northeast-10 Conference.
