Dear Melanie,
I usually help one of my friends with a lot of her English homework, but she’s been asking for a lot of help on her final papers and stuff and I have a lot of my own work to do. How do I tell her that I can’t help as much as the semester comes to a close?

Dear Reader,
The best thing to do is just be honest. Tell her that you would help if you could, but you have your own work and studying that you need to focus on. It’s important not to spread yourself too thin, especially at this time. You need to be able to study and save a little time for yourself so you’ll be well rested for your finals.
You can tell her that she can utilize the CLR; they are always there to help. Most professors also wouldn’t mind editing papers before the due date so tell her to check with her professors to see if they will help.
Just be honest with her and I’m sure it will be fine; we are all students here with our own work loads.
Xoxo,
Melanie
