I hate my roommate; she’s annoying and a pig. We don’t have that much time left in the semester so it’s pointless to move out, but I’m not sure what my options are.

Living with someone is hard. You’re right; there isn’t that much time in the semester so to move out for a few weeks and then have to move out again when the semester ends is a lot.

If you haven’t spoken to your roommate directly already, try that first. Don’t pussyfoot around the issue either; clearly tell her what your grievances are.

If the problem persists or she doesn’t want to have a grownup conversation, bring your RA into it; that’s a part of their job. Your RA can act as a mediator and facilitate a difficult conversation.

If mediation does not work, your RA can help lead you in the right direction for more help. Either way, you won’t be alone in this if talking to your roommate directly doesn’t work.
