Dear Melanie,
My boyfriend and I have dated for about 6 months and I found out he has a profile on a dating website. What should I do?
Sincerely,
Future Lorena Bobbitt
Dear Future Lorena,
I’m so sorry that happened; no one deserves that. I just have a couple of questions before I proceed. 1. How long ago was he on there? Maybe it was before you guys started dating and he stopped once he found you but forgot to delete the account. 2. Did you guys officially decide to be monogamous? If you have not had that conversation, he might think you’re dating other people and he wants to keep his options open also. If you guys have already decided to be monogamous and he’s been on there recently, you should dump him. Kick him to the curb. No one deserves to be cheated on—not that he definitely is, but if he’s on a dating website, we can use context clues to figure out he doesn’t intend to be faithful. It’s disrespectful and you should not allow it. At this point in your relationship, if you do allow it, it will more than likely happen again. Know your worth, don’t stand for this.
Xoxo,
Melanie
