Anthem Lights is a four-piece American Christian pop/rock band from Nashville Tenn. Members include Alan Powell, Caleb Grimm, Chad Graham and Joey Stamper.

On Feb. 1, 2011, they released Anthem Lights EP. May 10, 2011 they released their debut album titled, Anthem Lights with singles “Can’t Shut Up,” “I Wanna Know You Like That,” “Can’t Get Over You,” and “Outta My Mind.”

Following this album they released another EP The Acoustic Sessions on January 13, 2012. In 2013 they put together two more albums of all their covers they have done Anthem Lights Covers and Anthem Lights Covers Part 2.

On Nov. 19, 2013, they released their Simple Little Christmas EP with songs, “All I Want for Christmas,” “O Holy Night,” and more.

They just recently released their second album titled You Have My Heart, with single “Hide You Love Away.” If I may say, this album they have done is phenomenal. All these songs on their album have great meaning towards the lyrics, which made me think more about what I thought about each song.

“You Have My Heart:” This song was a great choice to put first on the album because it gets you ready for the rest of the songs that follow. The tempo of the song is fast and has great melodies throughout the lyrics.

“Follow Your Heart:” As you listen to the beginning of the song, it pulls your attention in with the different beats and rhythm. This song is perfect to listen to when you’re ready to have a great time and let loose with your friends.

“The Unknown:” This song is another heart-warming song and touches you with the lyrics. I feel as if this song has a lot of meaning to the words of the song and you can tell by the way they are being sung.

“Fight Forever:” The start of the song is very strong and it makes you listen carefully to see what is going to come next. This song has great harmonies throughout the song as well.

“Turn Around:” In the song they have the piano playing as it accompanies the lyrics and fits with the way the song flows perfectly. The piano gives the song a strong feeling because it has a distinct feel.

“That’s What I’m Looking For:” This song is a more upbeat song on their album. This song is different from the others on this album and it’s a great way to see a different side of Powell, Grimm, Graham and Stamper. This song would have to be my second favorite off this album.

“Light for You:” This song is also upbeat and has a positive vide throughout the song. The song makes you want to drop everything you’re doing and just jump around and feel free.

“Coming Home:” This song is upbeat, but has a slower feeling as you listen to the entire song. As I listened to this song it has a soothing rhythm as well as the melodies.

“Hide You Love Away:” This song is a more sentimental feeling as you listen to what is being said and it’s a little slower than their other songs on the album. You can really connect to what they are talking about.

“Closer Than the Angels:” This song has a great vibe and you are able to listen and think about what they are trying to say. It has a great message as you listen carefully.

“Help You Stand:” The instrumentation for this song works well with the song because it gives you that feel to enjoy what you’re doing. It has a very powerful outcome of the song as well as a great message.

“Dear Hollywood:” Making this the last song on the album closes off with a strong feeling. It has a slower tempo but has an upbeat vibe to the song.

If you haven’t heard of this talented American Christian band, you are missing out and I suggest you check them out as well as see them live. You will not be disappointed.
