WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The University of New Haven softball team raised over $1,500 at their third annual Homerun Breakfast on Thursday, Feb. 26.
The goal of the breakfast was to encourage more of a connection with the student-athletes and the faculty/administration/alumni, to support the softball team’s annual spring training trip to Florida, and to “tip-off” the softball season.
Many faculty and staff purchased tables for $100 and in turn “hosted” their seven guests. In a tradition that has developed over the years, each host designed an apron for the event. This year’s most creative apron went to Director of Athletics, Deborah Chin.
There was also a fundraising raffle during the breakfast which included various prizes such as a Yankee’s package, Coach bags, Spa gift cards and Comedy Club Tickets.
