“I know a girl who’s tough but sweet .She’s so fine, she can’t be beat. She’s got everything that I desire. Sets the summer sun on fire, I want candy!” Aaron Carter sang his hit song from back in the day: “I Want Candy.” It was his second to last song to end the night on the After Party Tour. He put on an incredible show for all his fans that came out to see him at Toads Place in New Haven, Conn. on Feb. 27, 2013.
There were three opening acts that accompanied Carter on his tour: Nikki Flores, a pop/R&B singer from Los Angeles., Petrel, a pop/rock band consisting of three sisters, Destiny, Jess and Bekah from New York, and Justin Levinson, a pop/rock/folk/Indie singer from Vermont. They knew exactly how to get the crowd started and ready for Carter’s performance.
As it was time for Carter to come out on stage, everyone in the crowd started screaming for him and was ready to be blown away by his performance. In the middle of his performance, Carter’s dancers choose one lucky fan for him to serenade on stage. They picked a girl named Kristen from the crowd. She was honored and sang along as he came on stage behind her singing.
As he went to greet his fans in the front row, he gave a few girls a kiss on the cheek (Yes! Who wouldn’t want a kiss from Aaron Carter? I know I would have died!). One of the lucky girls turned her head as he went to kiss her and he ended up kissing her on the lips.
His DJ host, D Nyce, said, “Dude did you just kiss her on the lips?” Carter answered, “It wasn’t my fault, she turned her head as I went to go kiss her on the cheek.” Okay Aaron we believe you (well, some of us might disagree but that’s another story). He continued with his light-hearted banter and antics throughout the show and even swung upside down from a pipe.
The After Party Tour started on Feb. 22 in New York and does not end until May 18 in Florida. So if you have not had the chance to see Carter perform, you still have plenty of opportunities. This is an incredible show that you do not want to miss. So if he is coming to a city near you, go see him!
