Welcome Back! Many of you are already avid users of library resources. But some of you may not be. So, as you begin the Spring 2012 semester, the librarians at the UNH Marvin K. Peterson library would like to present:
“10 Good Reasons to Check out the UNH Marvin K. Peterson Library”!
1. A quiet study floor. The 3rd floor of the library is reserved for quiet study only so you won’t be disturbed.
2. Group study rooms. These rooms can be reserved for your study group (2 or more students) ahead of time.
3. Really late hours sometimes! If you can’t study in your dorm room or apartment, you can study here. (Find library hours at http://www.newhaven.edu/library/general/Hours)
4. Librarians that can help you find information. Ever have a class instructor say you can’t use Google or Wikipedia and didn’t know what to do? The librarians know and they want to tell you about it! Come talk to us.
5. A service by which we can often get you books and articles that you need but our library doesn’t own. This is called Interlibrary Loan. Come ask us about it.
6. Computers for you to use. You can even borrow a laptop computer from the circulation desk in the library to use anywhere in the building (like the quiet study floor).
7. Drop-in workshops to help you learn how to find information and use databases. (http://www.newhaven.edu/library/Workshops/)
8. A café where you can grab and coffee and snack while you study.
9. A great program of speakers every semester! (http://www.newhaven.edu/library/Speakers/)
10. Books! Of course! And some great e-Book collections that you don’t need a Kindle or Nook to use.
