This year’s showing of “The Female Orgasm” was a huge hit with over three hundred students lining up to get a seat! Due to fire codes, SCOPE could only allow enough students in until capacity was reached in Dodd’s Auditorium; sadly a large amount had to be turned away from one of the most popular and risqué shows on campus. “It was hard turning people away from our event; this is why we plan and this is the turn out we hope for at every event,” says SCOPE Co-Chair Glenn Altshuler.
“The Female Orgasm” program talks about safe and healthy sex. During the show, the entertainers discuss and share stories about their personal life while bringing up the issues most college students are afraid to talk about. The whole lecture talks about individuals making the right sexual decisions, including whether to embrace safe sex in relationships, hook ups, or other sexual situations. It also included tips for partners about being patient and how to achieve an orgasm.
“The Female Orgasm” presenters Marshall Miller and Jocelyn Benson also discussed the “real sex information” out in the media currently. Cosmopolitan was a huge talking point; the articles are usually only representatives of select cases that rarely apply to the regular sexually active population. A guide to healthy (and good) sex can be found in the book I <3 Female Orgasm, written by the creators of the program. It’s an extraordinary orgasm and sex guide crammed with friendly information and advice. The book is a perfect extension of “The Female Orgasm” presentation or an introduction for those students who were not able to see the show.
SCOPE is working on bringing “The Female Orgasm” back to campus, so keep your eyes open! It truly is sex education unlike any you’ve had before so you don’t want to miss this!
