To commemorate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Black Student Union (BSU) hosted a campus wide event Saturday in order to help promote both Breast Cancer
Awareness and community service. The Save a Breast event was not only a hit but a great way to end Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Many clubs were in attendance to not only give their support but to participate alongside BSU. Each club had their own station, information, giveaways, and fun activities. From pumpkin carving to cupcake decorating, there was fun and awareness to be had. Students also enjoyed live entertainment, music, and guest speakers. This was done to give the UNH student a fun and personal experience to learn more about Breast Cancer Awareness.
When asking around to the student body in attendance, many were having a blast despite the inclement weather outside. One student who would like to remain anonymous said that “the activities, performances, and organization of the event show how we as a university can come together for a great cause. I hope that they do this every year!”
This reporter also had a great time and was amazed by all that the Fair had to offer the student body and the different ways that awareness can be made. BSU did an amazing job with this fair. From the dance team performances, guest speakers, poetry readings, and more there was no nothing that was not inspired.
The BSU creator behind this event Cora said “I am thankful to all the students and clubs that are here today to make this fair what it was. I am proud of this event, and even though the weather took a turn I still feel we had a great turnout. Hopefully we can continue this amazing event for years to come. Thank you all, again, for everything.”
This event was a great end to a very proactive month of Breast Cancer Awareness around and throughout the UNH campus. It showed though as diverse as our campus is, we will always come together.
