Chargers,

Do not fear challenges. Every moment of your life thus far has prepared you for this moment. You are stronger than you were yesterday and, whether you know it or not, you are better equipped to tackle the hardships life has in store for you. Do not worry about those hardships, however, because as experience has taught us in the past, you are capable of handling whatever life throws your way, regardless of the magnitude.

The human spirit is indomitable. The human condition, however, may encourage us to believe that our spirit can be beaten; that it can be stopped. The only thing capable of hindering the progression of your spirit is failure to believe that you are capable of pushing onward; capable of bettering yourself; and capable of inspiring others.

Greet each obstacle with a smile and a thumbs-up and you will instill fear in that challenge, instead of vice versa.

Sincerely,
James Kielar
USGA President
