New November Releases

October has come to a close. Spooky season has waned. However, you want to describe the end of the month, check out this playlist of a few songs you can play as we head into the month of November.

“Always Love You” — Elton John, Nicki Minaj, and Young Thug
Sir Elton John and Young Thug have teamed up again for this new song, which also features the “Queen of Rap” Nicki Minaj. On this melodic track, Elton plays the piano and sings the intro and chorus prior to Thug’s and Nicki’s verses. Elton and Thug take on the last chorus together with Nicki finishing out the song, leading on the outro. Elton John’s new album “The Lockdown Sessions” has been out since Oct. 22. The album features appearances from artists such as Lil Nas X, Stevie Wonder, Dua Lipa, and 6lack.

“Moth to a Flame” — Swedish House Mafia & The Weeknd
Swedish House Mafia made an incredible comeback by working with The Weeknd on a new single, “Moth to a Flame,” and an accompanying music video. This unexpected collaboration reached number seven on the iTunes Chart on the day it was released.

“Present” — Khalid
On Oct. 22, Khalid’s single “Present” was released. He sings about giving his full devotion to his partner, stressing the importance of being present in the moment for both him and his partner Khalid first teased “Present” on his Instagram in September, announcing that the single would also be the first release from his new and upcoming ep.

“Just a Notion” — ABBA
ABBA took the world by storm when they made their return to music on Sept. 2, with their song “Don’t Shut Me Down.” With eight successful studio albums, ABBA made their return after a 39-year hiatus with two singles, including “Don’t Shut Me Down” and “I Still Have Faith in You.” Their new song “Just a Notion” was actually written and recorded in the summer of 1978 during early sessions of their sixth studio album “Voulez-Vous.” The Swedish band’s upcoming new album “ABBA Voyage” will be released on Nov. 5.

“Bruxelles je t’aime” — Angèle
Angèle was first introduced to American fans in October 2020, when she and Dua Lipa collaborated on the song “Fever,” peaking at no. 1 on both Belgium Singles Top 50 and France Singles Top 100. The Belgian singer-songwriter rose to fame in 2017 after her single “La Loi de Murphy” gained popularity on YouTube. “Bruxelles je t’aime” tells of Angèle love of Brussels, with the music video being set on a train between Paris and Brussels. Angèle switches from singing in French to Dutch. Fans interpreted the decision as Angèle weighing in on a political debate within the country.

“SG” (E) — DJ Snake, Ozuna, Megan Thee Stallion, BLACKPINK’s Lisa
DJ Snake collaborated with Ozuna, Megan and Lisa to create “SG’s,” a tropical and fun beat that mixes both Spanish and English lyrics. The song incorporates all of the collaborators with a heavy bass production. “SG” also marks Lisa’s first solo international collaboration.

“Pa Mis Muchachas” — Christina Aguilera ft. Becky G, Nicki Nicole & Nathy Peluso
Christina Aguilera made a comeback on Oct. 22 with a sultry Spanish-sung “guáracha.”

A “guáchara” is a rapid-tempo genre that originated in Cuba. Aguilera, who is Ecuadorian, collaborated with Mexican singer-rapper Becky G, Argentinian performers Nicki Nicole and Nathy Peluso for her song “Pa Mis Muchachas,” which Aguilera has said is an homage to women.

“The Weekend” — 88rising ft. BIBI
88rising has collaborated with South Korean R&B singer BIBI, releasing this catchy and irresistible R&B pop gem on Oct. 15. “The Weekend” is a female empowerment anthem, exemplifying BIBI’s signature charm with a slick retro beat and an addictive hook. The single is part of 88rising’s upcoming album, “Head In The Clouds 3.” 88rising also served as one of the two executive producers on the soundtrack album for “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.”
