Great New Events and Original Services at the Rec Center!

Kat Wilberding

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve mentioned a big pink volleyball tournament that is coming up. Well, ladies and gentlemen, the week of the event has finally arrived. Friday, Feb. 19 big pink volleyball will be held in the Beckerman Recreation Center. Sign-ups start at noon. Email [email protected] for more details.

Great news! The 2nd annual health and wellness fair is coming up in the next couple of weeks. On Mar. 2 from 11:30 am – 2 pm more than 30 area organizations and vendors will bring information to you. Come take a breath of fresh air and a fresh look at ways to live a healthier lifestyle.

Tournaments and new fitness programs are exciting additions and improvements to what the Beckerman Recreation Center has to offer students.

However, just because more quality activities and equipment are being developed and instituted, doesn’t mean the favored products and services of the past have gone by the way-side. The Beckerman is still happy to offer such things as badminton, jump ropes, and even board games. Want to play racquetball? No problem. Reserve a court at equipment services and enjoy an hour of court time only for you and your competition. Want to play volleyball? A building supervisor is more than willing to put up a net for you if the court is available.

I know it can get crowded with REC Sports games, so a court might not be available when you are. No worries. With the Beckerman’s new Walleyball set, you can play a version of volleyball on racquetball court 1. Open Walleyball hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 pm – 10 pm, but you can request the net anytime.

As the new programs blend with older ones, campus recreation strives to provide the most refreshed and up-to-date products and services to you. Come see what is original and what is new at the Beckerman Recreation Center.
