Delicious Delicacies: Cannoli Cupcakes

Cannoli Cupcakes!

 

What They Are:

A delicious cupcake filled with cannoli cream and topped with a vanilla cream!

What You Need:

– Vanilla Cupcakes

– 1lb of Ricotta cheese

– 2 teaspoons vanilla

– 2 cups of powdered sugar

– ½ cup of heavy cream

– 1 cup of chocolate chips

– Vanilla icing (homemade or store bought)

– ½ tub of whipped cream

What to Do:

1) Mix the ricotta cheese, vanilla, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and chocolate chips in a large bowl

2) Add additional powdered sugar if necessary to make consistency thicker

3) Plunge the center of the cupcakes

4) Fill each cupcake with about 1 ½ teaspoons of the cannoli filling

5) Re-top the cupcakes

6) Mix in a small bowl the vanilla icing and whipped cream

7) Load mixture into a piping bag (or a baggie with the tip cut off)

8) Ice each cupcake

9) Eat and Enjoy!

Food Critic’s Review:

When I first head of the cannoli cupcakes, I figured that the cannoli part would be just a cannoli type of frosting. However, I was surprised to find that the cupcakes actually had cannoli filling inside of them. Also, taking a bite and finding a few chocolate chips was a nice surprise to the treat. These cupcakes are a new twist on a favorite baked good. If you have some time, and maybe a special occasion, try these out; they are worth it.
